Easy Delivery Co. Review¶
2026-01-19
I heard about the game on fedi and the anthropomorphic cats lured me in. I got an almost new second-hand Xbox controller for $39 and began binge playing (~7 hours) on a Sunday. I ended up "finishing" the game on Tuesday, but it was an unsatisfying ending, so I went back the next day to amend that. Right now I'm just driving for fun, and for the easter eggs.

▲ It was snowing heavily the day I finished it so I joking called it "Michigan simulator"
Oversimplified overview¶
You're a delivery driver who makes money delivering stuff between shops in different cities, so that you can feed yourself, pay for gas, and buy stuff to advance the story.
Mild spoiler
There are three cities connected by tunnels (unlocked one by one as story advances), each with three towns connected with winding roads. The towns are tiny, like no more than 20 buildings each. Some of them are interactable, but most of them bear the "Easy-" or "EZ" trademark.
Towns are connected in a mostly linear fashion (there are few shortcuts) because they are on a mountain. The lowest city, Fishing Town, is cyclic, but only with an upgrade to the truck that rams through steel gates between two towns.
Favorite things¶
- My kei truck is indestructible, which allows (and encourages) reckless driving
- You still get paid even if you drop part of the cargo
- There's no traffic (you're the only driver)
- Graphic requirements are low (Steam didn't even list any)
- Soundtrack is so chill. "Rainless" evokes Hong Kong vibes somehow
Spoiler
- The story arc of the shopkeepers discovering themselves and finding love reminds me of myself in 2024
- Fortino x Ellie is so sweet, even their bobbleheads (easter eggs) are together
Things that confused me¶
- The map doesn't show where you are, you have to rely on signs and landmarks if you get lost
- When you respawn, it doesn't tell you where you are either
Spoiler
- It's basically the same shops in every town with the same storefront and shopkeepers, so at first I had trouble remembering which town I'm in. (Later I discovered you can go to the jobs menu and there's always a local job)
- The energy meter (for the player) was on the other side of the same gauge as the fuel meter (for the truck), so when the energy was running out I mistook it for low fuel and walked into a gas station. The gas station shopkeeper took all my money and refueled my truck. When I climbed back in, my energy was still low. I need to buy an energy drink but I have no money. So yeah, I died.
- When MK told me I could use their cabin, I assumed I could use any cabin that looked the same, but no, it's just that specific one
- When I was making a campfire the first time, I couldn't figure out how to throw two pieces of firewood on the ground, because when I press A twice I just pick up the first piece. It turns out you need to press L1 to get another piece from your inventory.
- I assumed the "cam.exe" in the menu was to take a screenshot, but it was actually to switch to a third-person view (that's how I took the picture above)
- I was on my way to activate the Easton radio tower, which was a long flight of stairs up, but only when I was too far away from the truck did I receive an in-game email about how to avoid dying of the cold by drinking tea. It was too late, I died anyway.
- I achieved the in-game goal of activating all the radio towers, but I didn't get it in Steam. This was because I was missing one tower (Lopton) that was made available to me after the in-game goal was met.
- Once the map told me to deliver a package to a place off the road, seemingly on an iced lake, but (1) my truck cannot stop on the ice and (2) I can't possibly walk that far on the ice without dying so I just died and effectively aborted the job. Later I found there's a narrow road that descends to the harbor
▲ The destination seemed to be off the road from Damton
▲ It turns out it's this house
- Another time I accepted a job that was literally within walking distance with a cup of tea.

- There were sometimes orders to MK's cabin even after he left. Kinda creepy
- I didn't know you could drink two cups of tea and you could be immune to the cold twice as long
Endings¶
Massive spoiler
The NPCs are some form of robots running software that became buggy over time, and I had two options:
- Reboot: When MK told me to reboot the NPCs, I did. The Steam achievement popped up, and the game brought me to the menu, so I assumed this was the ending, but it was not.
- Shutdown: I went back into the game, I was at the iced lake to the factory, so I assumed I should go ahead and choose the other one.
My biggest regret was not driving back and interacting with the rebooted NPCs after I hit reboot. Instead I hit shutdown right away. Now all the NPCs are dead. MK is lying on the ground next to a dead bonfire. The shopkeepers just stand there silent. That was creepy as hell.
This means I don't have jobs, so no income, but I can shoplift, so I looted an entire EZMart. However, the stores no longer have heating, so I can't stay too long in there. I also tried to activate the 4th radio tower, but I couldn't when everything's shut down. The worst part is that fuel is running low, but I can't get gas without the gas station NPC.
So I looked up a guide and found that you can buy the restore disc at the Easton pawn shop. The disc sold for $300, but it turns out you can shoplift that too. I brought it to the factory, and it let me restore the NPCs. This is known as the restore ending. That was when the credits rolled, and the game is finally finished. …Or is it?
With the last remaining fuel I drove back to Easton and got a full tank right before it ran out. Then the question was: Where is MK? He wasn't at the factory any more, so I went up to Snowy Peaks and bingo, he's in his cabin. He told me he's gonna leave this place, so that was the last time I saw him. A new in-game goal (restore NPCs and tell MK) popped up and immediately was marked finished. And there are no goals to do.
Now I roam the cities freely, doing delivery jobs when I feel like it, interacting with shopkeepers on the way.
Unhinged NPC quotes¶

Verdict¶
Never played a similar game before, so there's no comparison. I would say I enjoy the driving overall, but it gets boring sometimes with the repetitive routes. I get the appeal in the lore, which is quite sophisticated for an indie game. (BTW, Fortino is a cutie.) I wish some mechanics could be explained earlier on, such as how gas stations work.
